Let us first know what an amusement park is. By definition, it is a park which showcases multiple variations of attractions, like rides, games, and other means for entertainment purposes. Amusement parks are stationary and are designed for long-lasting operation. They are more creative and elaborate than your casual city parks and playgrounds. Amusement parks may also be partnered with a theme. A theme park is a kind of amusement park that bases its structures around a particular and central theme.

These are the two means of admission to an amusement park:

1.)    Pay-as-you-go

If you just want to ride specific rides and won’t be riding too much, this might be the best option for you. This method allows a guest to enter an amusement park with little or no charge at all. However, the guest has to purchase ride tickets individually. The prices may differ according to the popularity and complexity of the particular ride. For an example, a guest might purchase one ticket for a Ferris wheel ride but two tickets for a Bump car ride.

These are some of the advantages of the pay-as-you-go admission method:

a.)    Guests will only pay for the particular rides they choose to experience. This allows them to visit the amusement park for a shorter period of time.
b.)    The attraction costs of the rides can be easily modified to encourage use or capitalize on popularity

These are some of the disadvantages of the pay-as-you-go admission method:

a.)    After spending money almost continuously and probably lining up in a queue, the guests may feel tired.
b.)    With all the continuous expense on the rides, it might have a psychological effect and the guests may limit themselves to buying food, drinks, and souvenirs.

2.)    Pay-one-price

If you are a die-hard fan of amusement parks, this might be the best option for you. This will help you enjoy the amusement park to your heart’s content. This admission method will charge guests using a single admission fee. After the payment, the guest is now eligible to use most of the entertainment in the park as often as they want within the day.

These are some of the advantages of the pay-one-price method:

a.)    Since there is no need for ticket-takers, this method will have lower costs for the park operators.
b.)    Unlike pay-as-you-go method, guests would not need to worry about spending continuously on the amusement park’s rides and attractions. This allows the guests to spend more money on food and souvenirs.
c.)    This gives the guest a more predictable price offer since upfront cost is known.

These are some of the disadvantages of the pay-one-price method:

a.)    Using this method requires a bigger amount to pay. Hence, this method might be unattractive to guests whose primary cause is to visit the park or ride and use only a few attractions.
b.)    Guests are most likely compelled to spend more time in hours in order to make the most out of the cost. This makes them spend maybe a whole day rather than a quick and short visit.
